Bruckner was born in Hollywood California to a Hungarian father as well as a Russian mother. They later divorced. Her paternal grandfather is German. She is the daughter of Hungary-born parents, who met in Hungary. The family immigrated into the U.S.A. via an Italian refugee camp in 1984. There are two of her siblings as well as an older brother.
